- Three University athletes qualified to represent Nigeria in Germany later this year 2025, from the Federation Internationale du Sports Universitaire (World University Games)
- Trials at the University of Jos from April 6 to April 12. Five University of Ilorin athletes won 3 gold and 3 silver medals at the 11th All-African University Games at the University of Lagos from 20th to 29th September 2024.
- The University of Ilorin’s male Football team won second place at Lagos against Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi in the All-Nigeria Universities Football Competition (Varsity Cup) on the 4th of November 2024.
- The University of Ilorin’s male Football team won the 3rd Edition of Emir of Ilorin Football Competition in 2024.
- A University of Ilorin female student badminton player, Obanisola Sofiat, represented Nigeria at the All-African Games, Ghana 2024
- A University of Ilorin Badminton Coach, Mr Suleiman Tajudeen Ayodele, led Nigeria’s Badminton Team to the All-African Games, Ghana 2024
- University of Ilorin staff table tennis player Mr. Ganiyu Olaniyan won the table tennis final in the sporting activities of the 2024 Edition of KU8+ Conference at the Al-hikmah University between August 3 to 5, 2024.
- The University of Ilorin Athletics Team won 4 Gold, 4 Silver and a Bronze medal at the University of Ibadan South West Athletics Championship from 29th to 31st August 2024 at the main stadium of the University of Ibadan
- The university female football team became the overall best the Association of Proprietors of Football Academies of Nigeria Kwara State Chapter Female League 2023/2024.
- Coach Abdulkareem Sulyman was selected as one of the Coaches of the Nigeria Rugby team for the 13th All-African Games Camping in Abuja from 15th February to 16th March 2024.
- A University of Ilorin Student, Usman Mariam Ayomide of the Department of Human Kinetics Education was invited to the Nigeria Volleyball Team to participate in all All The African Games from 8th to 30th March 2024

- The University of Ilorin Athletes won 2 Gold, 4 Silver and a Bronze medal at the 2023 West African University Game at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife from 15th to 23rd December 2023.
- An Honorary Coach, Dr. Rofiat O. Dauda, was appointed as a member of the Finance Commission of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, dated 24th November 2023.
- Mr Abdulkareem Sulyman Angulu, A Judo Coach, was appointed as a member of the Ethics and Good Governance Commission by the Nigeria Olympic Committee on 29th May, 2023.
- The University of Ilorin Football Female Coach, Dr. Memunat T. Ajadi, was appointed as Chairperson of the Kwara State Football Referees’ Council on 15th April 2023.
- Mr Abdulkareem Sulyman Angulu attended Training/ Grading course in Kaduna from 17th to 24th August 2022.
- Prof. Olufunmilola L. Dominic and the Director of Sports, Dr. T.O. Ibraheem, attended the International Olympic Committee/ Nigeria Olympic Committee Advanced Sports Management Course in Nigeria from May 2022 to May 2023.
- The University of Ilorin won 11 Gold, 12 Silver and 16 Bronze medals, totalling 39 medals and ranking 4th out of 37 universities overall on the medals table at the 2022 edition of NUGA at the University of Lagos.
